Transparency in Government

It has always been my philosophy that government should be completely transparent to the people it serves. I will hold Town Hall meetings in the Fourth District to provide a unique opportunity for people to express their ideas and concerns.

My Proven Leadership:

* I have held Town Halls once per month over the past seven years to hear directly from residents without the time constraints of public meetings.

* I have been a volunteer, Board Member, and/or a regular supporter of countless non profits including the Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America, Cultural Arts Center, Girl Scouts of America, Education Foundation, For the Troops, Police Foundation, Free Clinic, Rotary Club of Simi Valley, Samaritan Center, VFW, YMCA, and many others.

* I chaired or served on several commissions and committees including a $35,000,000 School Bond Committee; Chair of Ventura County Water Works, District 8; Ventura County Human Relations Commission; the City of Simi Valley Industrial Commercial Development Commission; the Ventura County Regional Sanitation District Board of Directors; Ventura County Criminal Justice Planning Board; Ventura Council of Governments Board (Chair 2013 and 2018 Chair-Elect); Ventura County Community College Trustee for District 4 (served 2004-2010, Chair of the Board in 2009 and 2010), and Ventura County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem since 1981.
