The most important role of Government is public safety. Without a safe community nothing else functions. As a former Deputy District Attorney I have spent most of my life supporting law enforcement and will continue to do so as your Ventura County Supervisor through a respectful relationship between the County and Law Enforcement, encouraging the proactive use of neighborhood watch programs, and use of the latest technology to fight crime.
I believe it takes hands on work on the part of an elected representative to keep jobs here and bring new jobs to our area. My track record shows results, and I will continue that same effort for the County.
Prudent management of your tax dollars is at the top of my priority list. I do not believe in raising taxes. Maintaining a balanced budget and prudent reserves is the job of the Board of Supervisors. My plan is to continue the things that are working well at the County level and discontinue things that do not work with a thorough audit to eliminate waste.
Transparency in Government
It has always been my philosophy that government should be completely transparent to the people it serves. I will hold Town Hall meetings in the Fourth District to provide a unique opportunity for people to express their ideas and concerns.
