Why I am running for County Supervisor
My business and community experience can represent the totality of the Fourth District in a way no other candidate is able. In addition to running two successful businesses for over 40 years I have served as Mayor of Simi Valley for the past seven years and represented the same Fourth District for six years as the Ventura County College Trustee, with two of those years as Chair of the Board. Starting January 11, 2018 I will be serving my second term as Chair of VCOG (Ventura Council of Governments) chosen by Mayors or their designees of every City in Ventura County and one member of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Each of these opportunities has brought me unique and solid experience in Economic Development, Public Safety, Municipal Finance, and addressing the day to day challenges that our citizens face.
For the past seven years I have consistently held monthly Town Hall meetings to hear directly from you, the people face to face without the limitation of having time constraints at public meetings. I have found the feedback invaluable and often times led to creative solutions to problems by listening to the ideas of the people of our community.
My priorities for Ventura County are economic vitality, public safety, sound fiscal stewardship, and the engagement of our residents in County Government. Please click on the "Issues" tab for more information.
I have invested most of my life working to make our County a better place to live. It’s been my privilege to represent you and volunteer with local charitable organizations, school bond committees, and other government agency committees. Please click on the "Experience" tab to learn more.
It is my goal to ensure we maintain our high quality of life in our beautiful County.
